双陆棋在悠久的历史长河中曾有许多不同的名称。 罗马人称其为 "Tabulae"（桌面）、"Tali"（小石头）、"Alea"（骰子）或 "Ludus Duodecim Scriptorum"（12 行游戏）。 在马其顿、法国、西班牙分别称为"Plakoto"、"Tric Trac"、"Tables Reales"。
要想在双陆棋游戏中取胜，有许多不同的战术。 但是每次游戏速度都非常快，您必须能够适应并且有些时候甚至能够“预测”您对手的走棋！
有不同的游戏战术
赛跑玩法 —— 纯粹的赛跑
“纯粹的赛跑”是一种游戏，在这种情况下玩家互相之间没有如何接触，例如在对手内盘建立一个阻挡角点。 游戏的目的仅仅是将您的所有棋子尽快地移回内盘，过后再将它们从棋盘中移出。 对于一个初学者，这是一个不错的战术。
占有性游戏
占有性游戏是一种位置对策，此时在对手的内盘区域上您有一个防守位置（一个点，上面有两个或更多棋子）。 目的是 —— 只要有可能 —— 防止您的对手的棋子回到内盘。
闪电战
闪电战的目标是当对手有一个或多个棋子处于中线上时，通过在自己内盘设置锁定点来阻止对手移动棋子。
封阻玩法
封阻玩法是指在一些封阻点后面阻止对手。 最佳封阻是“封盘” —— 封阻6个角点。
后方玩法
“后方玩法”是一种战术，使用条件是：当您在游戏中远远落后，并且在对手内盘有一个或多个防守角点。 要领是等到对手出现一个弱点时攻击对手棋子。 稍后，为了防止您的对手重新调整其“就位”棋子，您需要设置一个封阻，最好是在对手内盘的上的“封盘”。
